Updates for the remainder of the school year.

We have a lot of fun activities coming up this month to celebrate our hard work and effort this year. Please make note of the following dates:

-May 10th, 5:30 pm, Central Campus is our Math Night. We will have dinner and maths games. It should be a fun evening.

-May 20th, 6 pm, Central Campus is our Kinder Round-Up and Open House. Come for a night of fun and information about next year.

-May 24th, 11:00-2:30, we are having a picnic at Jacobs park. Send sunscreen and any snacks for your child.

-May 25th-LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! We hope you have a safe and fabulous summer!

This week we are having field day! We are super excited! Please make sure that your child is on his or her best behavior to ensure they can participate in all field day activities!

Updates for the week of April 26th.

I just wanted to send a shout out to our parents. Thanks for all of your help with the zoo field trip. It was a great success!

Good news! We are starting 2 new science units. 1st and 2nd are starting a unit on plants and 3-5th are started a unit on magnets.

Please make sure your child has registered for next year.

Updates for the week of April 19th

-Great job on AIMS testing! Everyone worked so hard, thanks for getting your students to school on time and encouraging them to do their best.

-This Thursday we are going on a field trip to the zoo. Please make sure your child has sunblock or a hat. Make sure they bring a waterbottle as it will be hot!

-Homework for the last few weeks of school will be only one sheet, both sides, due Friday.

Updates for the next THREE weeks!

-Hey everybody, I'm updating for the next three weeks because they will be intense weeks of study. So, listen up!

-We are hitting the ground running with regards to the upcoming AIMS tests. For the weeks of March 15-19, March 22-26, and April 5-9 we will be temporarily suspending extra activities and subjects in order to more fully prepare for the AIMS test.

-Talk to your child about the AIMS test, discuss worries or concerns they might have and stress the importance of listening in class to help prepare them.

-Don't forget Spring Break! It's the week of March 29-April 2. Take a breather, then be prepared to come back and WORK!

-Thanks for all you do! I'm so proud of your kids, they have come a long way.

Updates for the week of March 8-11

-Remember there is no school on Friday as it will be a teacher workday.

-Please make sure your child turns in his or her homework by Friday. He or she will be excluded from Fun Friday activities until it is completed.

-We are buckling down for the upcoming AIMS test. I would encourage you as parents to take an active role in your child's test preparation. Take about math in everyday situations and have them apply it. A few suggestions could be shopping, baking etc.

Updates for the week of Feb. 15-19

-It's that time! The time has arrived to buckle down and gear up for the AIMS test! These next few weeks we will be reviewing test taking strategies and problem solving skills. Get ready to hit the ground running!

-This Friday we will be having our Valentine's Day party. If you would like to participate, please bring enough valentines to share with EVERYONE. Also make sure to add our new students, Alondra to your list.

-Next week will be our "Love of Reading" week. Read the pink fliers for an outline of the weeks activities. The main event will be next Tuesday our dinner/game night starting at 5:00. Please sign up to bring a food item and come join the fun!

Everyone is getting sick! Pleasemake sure to cover your coughs and sneezes, wash hands frequently and stay home if you are sick!

Valentine's Day will be celebrated on Friday. Please bring enough valentines to share with everyone in class.

Great job on the economics unit! The free market was a huge success.

Updates for the week of Jan. 25-29

The third, fourth, and fifth graders are really enjoying our social studies unit on economics. Keep earning that money for our free market at the end of the unit.

We have also done an excellent job with attendance! Keep up the good work!

Update for the week of Jan. 19th

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Martin Luther King day!

Reminders:

Please make sure your child is dressing in his/her uniform. Khaki or dark pants, collared/polo red, white or blue shirt. Jeans are to be worn on Fridays only.

Friday is our 100th day of school! Make sure the 1st and 2nd graders bring their collection of 100 items.

Please come to school on time everyday ready to work! We did a great job last week with our attendance! Keep up the good work.

Update: Week of Jan. 11th

Last week was a great way to start 2010. Thanks for a great week! We learned a lot and covered a great deal of new material. Nice work!

This week we are beginning new science and social studies units. Keep posted for upcoming details.

Also, remember our attendance goals. Let's get the highest percentage EVERYDAY. Great job today at getting 100% perfect attendance!
